Overall, based on self-reported type and current insulin use, 0.55% of U.S. adults had diagnosed type 1 diabetes, representing 1.3 million adults and 200,000 youth; 8.6% had diagnosed type 2 diabetes, representing 21.0 million adults.
Biden in his SOTU implied that 10% of the population are insulin dependent. The vast majority of diabetics have Type 2 diabetes. Some are on insulin, but the majority are controlled with medication and diet.
He also tried to take credit for lowering insulin costs, when it was clearly an accomplishment of the Trump Administration.
Most times it sounded like a campaign speech, with him shouting like a two-bit carnival barker.
It was meandering with a hodgepodge of slurring and mispronunciation of words.
Dana Perino nabbed it as like "someone had dropped the pages of their prepared speech on the floor, and instead of organizing them in order, simply picked them and put them back together at random."
No doubt the worst SOTU speech in history. Think about that statement.
Wow, this is the real ADA? They better be very careful, they might lose their non profit status with challenges to the poser in the white house.
You folks are missing something again. He made those false claims with the cameras on the 13-year old boy with type-1 diabetes. Brought up the high insulin costs that just may be true. Think: ‘couda been my son’. How do WE fight that? No credit to the Bush prescription program. Is Big Pharma the real enemy? Could be and they give to democrats.

Decimal points are hard.

No, the poster of this vanity just went to their website for some statistics.
Doesn’t really matter how many millions have Type 1 or Type 2 and need insulin. The real issue is that before Biden there was a successful effort going on under Trump to rein in the price gouging drug companies vis-a-vis insulin prices. Now we are back to $600 insulin pens because the poser in the White House wanted to wipe out anything good or bad that Trump did.
We simply have a criminal political class.
I see, a bit deceptive of slight of hand to make it seem that it came from the ADA.
That’s exactly right and NO ONE talks about the fact that Joe Biden, the first days of his presidency overturned Trump’s drug agreement with an executive order?
My favorite was the economically illiterate “Reduce your costs, not wages”, conveniently omitting that costs are paid out to other companies, who employ workers, who work for wages....
