The White House and other observers are increasingly sounding the alarm about the mindset of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who seems poised to escalate his country’s war with Ukraine.
Experts, analysts, lawmakers and even administration officials have speculated that Putin’s isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic has raised his paranoia. They’ve pointed to decisions he’s made such as the invasion itself and his move on Sunday to put his nuclear forces on alert in suggesting he is not making rational decisions.

Biden is Putin’s enabler by buying his oil. Biden’s oil purchases from Putin makes Biden a war criminal by association.
I’m skeptical that a headshrinker is necessary to explain Putin’s actions. He’s just a run-of-the-mill Russian ruler. The way to make yourself a bigger deal in that august group is to acquire land. People come up with all these epithets about empire-builders, but this impulse has been around since the first village chief attacked his neighbor. WWII kiboshed it in the West and maybe Japan, but I’m not sure that countries outside of this circle wouldn’t take their nations on armed regional tours if not for Uncle Sam’s stabilizing influence.

Yes I saw that. Macron had a relationship with Putin. Tried to keep him “relatively” close to the West. But all of a sudden, Putin did something like this. Maybe he has a terminal disease and he wants to reestablish the USSR before he departs this world?
Khrushchev wanted to take out Stalin during WWII but couldn’t get the support.
My theory is had the Nazis taken Moscow, Stalin would have been replaced with Khrushchev via a coup.

I read the latest comments at The Hill for this article for one minute.
Per usual, the Hill comments are a sewer full of Trump and Republican hating and of course tieing Trump to Vlad. And when I say sewer, I mean demented and miseducated liberals. They are more proof that “Liberalism is a mental illness”
The Hill is a dump. I read a recent paper edition Time magazine, and though liberal, it was reasonable and devoid of vituperation.
