I was hiking Windy Hill in Portola Valley, CA yesterday. Shortly after starting down, I heard a loud mix of howling, yipping, and barking from several coyotes. My first thought was mom had brought a fresh kill to her cubs. The noise lasted maybe a minute, then all was quiet again. I spotted four small rabbits on my hike in that area, so lots of food available. It seems rather early in the year for a litter of coyote pups, though. I was rather wary on that stretch of the hike after hearing that cacophony.
So this photo you posted struck a chord with me. I could just see mom teaching the kids like that.
Porcupine quills are easily removed by scissors (cut the ends off and let the air out). Vet told me this 150 bucks after the fact. Wife would not let me rip them out as a teachable moment.
The owl makes my eyes hurt to try to see it.
And honey badger still don’t give a sh!t!
Thanks for posting! I went to the website at the link and there are many more.
Some are absolutely astonishing!😮

Very Cool pictures.
I had a coyote family in my back yard @ 10 years ago, and I’m in Detroit!
Nothing bothered my garden for that year. Unfortunately the police shot them all as they also prey on small pets, and children.
The coats where much darker that the one in the picture above.
