My husband did the same when he retired after 20 in the Army.

About ten years ago I started changing the way I was cooking. Many less carbs, many more veggies and daily walks. The weight came off.

I keep a timer beside me because most of what I do is office work. At one hour the timer goes off and no matter what I get up and do something that requires me to move.

When I am in the store it often is stock and straighten the shelves. At home... something needs cleaning, count on it. If I am home and it is nice out then I head out doors to weed, dead head or one of a hundred other chores.

One hour of office, ten minutes of something else.

It is amazing what you can get done in ten minutes.

That’s so funny! I use the kitchen timer all throughout the day!

Mainly, it’s because I’m running to the barn a number of times a day to take care of animals, or there’s something I REALLY need to line off my list for the day, and I’m being a slug. Or, in the summer months, it’s to move the hose around the garden, etc.

Yes, I’m up and on my feet a lot during the course of a day. And you’re right - you CAN get a lot done in just ten minutes!
