Old America On Display in Convoy But we still have the new one, too

After several days of following the People’s Convoy and getting a taste of many of the things that made America great long before Donald Trump, I can admit to a bit of nostalgia creeping in. Doors are held open, regardless of sex coming through; taking turns; giving each other respect; working issues out without lawyers or counselors over hurt feelings.

This is one of the reasons I moved to Texas, because I felt at home there while at work. Then, I’d come back to Colorado and nearly get into a fight in the parking lot over stupidity. There, I’d go into town and was treated with the respect with which I naturally treat others. It felt like I could breathe, that I didn’t have to hate everyone I met.

The convoy is a reminder of the America of the founders, a sense of helping those who need help and doing everything one can to be self-sufficient. Cooperation is cooperation, it doesn’t need a leader or a manager or a master. This is what I find so offensive about communists. They look at all that America once was and find it distasteful, because they are not in control of that America, because that America didn’t need controls, lawyers or rulers. All that America needed was to be left alone in freedom to work out the solution.

Despite the natural temptation to believe that we can have that America again, if we can just dispel a few poorly thought-out ideas, one recognizes that they aren’t poorly thought-out, they’re cleverly crafted ideas to implement control and vanquish freedom. Their plan is so diabolical that any right-thinking human being would reject it out of hand, so we’re left to deal with those who see in it a chance to be one of the masters of humanity.

There is one thing, though. While people on overpasses is impressive, because almost every single overpass is occupied by like-minded Americans, there is a sense that the convoy exists, because those on the overpasses are content with doing just that much.

I recognize, as do all who have joined the convoy, that we’re there, because we can be. For whatever reason, God has put us in a position to do this now. As I pass under, I want to think that when it’s their time, when events and circumstances place them in the breach, that they will lift the standard high.

Their support for those going forward at this time is incredibly vital and I hope they understand how big a part they play. I hope they know what inspiration they provide, but also know that their time will come. This cannot be won by a demonstration of will, which is all the convoy is, it has to be won with an iron will to take all of the criticisms and undeserved epithets and cling to the purpose of the convoy, which is to take America back, to demand our rights as human beings.

Those of us in the convoy are the beginning and those people on the overpasses are the solution. There will be an “after” the convoy, whatever that “after” is to be.

I wish them all well. Keep eyes and ears open for leftist plants trying to do things that will be blamed on the protest.

Maybe because Colorado has been Californicated. Had many of the same issues during my years in Florida. Flocks of Northeastern and Canadian snowbirds ruined otherwise amazing winters.
