The flu threatens immunocompromised people all the time! My mom passed away in a rehabilitation facility while on lockdown because of the flu a decade ago. Nowhere on her death certificate does it state the flu as one of the causes of death, but we’re certain it was the final straw.
The lady mentioned is age 30. I feel sorry for her, like I said - she’s got a whole world of problems already. But if she’s 30, she’s lived through several flu outbreaks. What’s so different about this one?

my mother also died ten years ago; she had an ovarian cancer diagnosis, considered terminal, and sure enough the proximate cause of death on the certificate was cancer...
BS; she clearly died within days, when she took to her bed for good, from pneumonia, not anything related to organic failure due to cancer, her hacking coughs trying to clear the fluid buildup in her lungs were testimony to that...
I looked high an low on the certificate to find pneumonia as contributory to her death; it wasn’t there...
