The income tax is on its face unconstitutional. I could point out half a dozen obvious reasons why and at least 100 secondary reasons. Let’s start with jurisdiction, shall we?

RandFan: Your epigram about I Schiff is excellent.
Schiff may have been technically correct; at least he had some compelling arguments.
Also, he himself believed he was legally correct.
And he likely thought he was morally correct.
Further, having been scammed in a Ponzi scheme he was possibly suffering PTSD from that event.
It is sad to see the underdog get squashed by the system.
Even so, admiring this man seems a little bit much.

Thanks for posting.

People should take a stand against income tax. We should be taxed for:

1. Military (to defend our borders)
2. Police (to ensure domestic harmony)
3. Some business and bank transactions
4. Government maintenance and oversight

And that’s it. You should NEVER be taxed for your personal income. (And look what they use this precious money for! They GIVE IT AWAY to foreign countries who hate our guts and create an entire culture of people who DON’T WORK or contribute anything to society and who get really angry if they don’t get their free handouts.)

I think they missed the point that the income tax could not be extracted from wages. And Glenshow glass basically changed the definition of income to be appurtenances to wealth. When your life is assigned as a commodity. recent supreme court justice equated your work at a company the same as a machine that might go haywire to enforce vaccine mandates.

Income taxes reward sloth and crime, while punishing productive, “reportable,” work.

When half of a population do not pay a major tax, they have complete encouragement to grow government (to help them) by increasing taxes they never pay (on workers).

My wife and I have no plans to ever move to a state with a state income tax. We have our targets only on states without them.

Sales taxes encourage wise buying while assuring everyone pays something into the community tax pie. They also don’t require onerous filing expectations with everyone, save for businesses collecting them.
