Lord, they were lucky. Helicopter crashes are usually ugly.
It appears to me they were terrain following and lead took them into granite cumulous.

Two Blackhawks landing simultaneously near each other in blowing snow on uneven terrain?
Is this obviously sub-optimal or am I ignorant of something?
Really thankful it only cost us some machinery.
