Taiwan is closely watching the situation in the narrow strait that separates it from China and raising its preparedness in response to what is happening with Ukraine, the government said on Saturday, though it added the two cases were very different.
China, which claims Taiwan as its own territory, has stepped up military activity near the self-governing island over the past two years, though Taiwan has reported no unusual manoeuvres by Chinese forces in recent days as tensions over Ukraine have spiked.
Taiwan last month reported the largest incursion since October by China's air force, with the island's defence ministry saying Taiwanese fighters scrambled to warn away 39 aircraft.
Those flights have continued on an almost daily basis but with far fewer aircraft: Taiwan reported just five were involved in a mission on Saturday.

The Winter Olympics ended on Sunday.
That is the big question. Will the people of Taiwan be willing to fight and sacrifice to defend their freedom and way of life? Its not certain they will especially since they know they will not receive the same support from the US as the US gave to Ukraine.
If the clown in the White House bungles the Ukraine situation the break away provinces of Western Taiwan may move against its island neighbor.
Let’s not forget Xi’s other big problem: Japan.
Japan has said it will not allow an invasion of Taiwan. That will put Japan’s security forces in direct contact with the PRC. It will also trigger the US-Japan Security promises made at the end of WWII.
Biden will prevent Japan or anyone else from coming to the aid of Taiwan. Taiwan knows they are very much alone. Taiwan does not have a Winston Churchill to lead it. Strongly suspect they will choose to capitulate than fight.
Can Biden really stop Japan?
Like the Israelies know that a nuclear Iran is Sudden Death, Japan understands that Taiwan is their last defense against China. A Chinese breakout will not stop with Taiwan.
It becomes a matter of self-defense. I do not believe either will wait for approval from Washington.

Dominoes are starting to fall since our Afghanistan surrender. Ukraine today, next Taiwan and with that, China will hold the reins to the world’s largest microchip manufacturing nation. Iran is ramping up nuke production capabilities. Who knows what Little Rocket Man has in mind for the West Coast?

Iran may bluster, but they won’t nuke Israel.
One, the Iranians know (as does the rest of the world) that Israel ALSO HAS the Bomb. They’ve had it for years. They also would certainly have the will to use it, if necessary.
Two, Jerusalem will NOT be destroyed. That is more of a Biblical statement than anything. Jerusalem has to be around for the End Times.
