Russ Taff yes, and some others. I was more of a Petra fan but I think my brother was into Stryper. I kind of drifted away from some of these when I no longer had a cassette player - ha! Did you listen to any Steve Taylor?

Loved Rez's When the Loves Come Down, Right on Time, and Bargain.
Fun fact, when Pete Townsend of The Who wrote Bargain, the intended subject is God, not a woman.

I liked Margaret Becker's music back in the day. It was only many years later I found out she was a lifelong Roman Catholic and not Evangelical.
Best of Contemporary/Praise mix was 2nd Chapter of Acts, they did a concept album of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (The Roar of Love) back in the late 70s. Great backstory to the band.

Fun fact, when Pete Townsend of The Who wrote Bargain, the intended subject is GodWell his Guru, Meher Baba, to be more exact. As much of a Who fan I am, I never really got that whole thing with Pete.

I love me some Petra. Both the Grex X Volz days and the John Schlitt days. Perhaps because I like both the classic rock sound and the arena rock sound.
Listening to Petra is like listening to Bible teaching with a guitar. LOL
I heard them in concert twice in the past 7 or 8 years. Once when they put out their Back to the Rock album, and once again when they double-headlined with David and the Giants. Talk about thinking I was a teenager again!

2nd Chapter of Acts was before my day. I didn’t become a Christian until mid 1980’s. So back-ordering Petra albums worked for me, but I honestly didn’t like their first couple of albums — too much “hippie” sound for me. LOL.

I see you don’t want to answer the question.
BTW …. In the Gospel(s) …. John the Baptist was executed just after the dancing. I think music was playing during the dancing.

The hymns I grew up hearing (I’m 73) were like tiny sermons set to music. I loved them.

A great rendition of a great tune.
Although I think Larry had a few better ones.
I just loved the whole album “In Another Land”

Beautiful passage. For the Israelites.
Not applicable to Christians today.

Once again…. How many times does it have to talk about music for you? You said it wasn’t enough. You tell me how many times is necessary… or go away

King David…. In the linage of our savior was a musician. Look… if you are church of Christ and prefer church without music…. That is fine. If you are here to argue that music in the service is a sin…. You’re an idiot.
