The man — a self-proclaimed “multi-millionaire” who uses the handle @realkingkhang — took to the app on Valentine’s Day to share a short video showering the waiter with the very generous gratuity.
“I love doing this. Feels so good making someone’s day,” he wrote beneath the video, which was filmed in an Olive Garden eatery at an unknown location. The clip shows the the man telling the server to swipe on a payment screen until it reaches the maximum tip percentage. “Swipe as far as it goes. Boom — 200%!” he enthuses, leaving the elderly server stunned.
SNIP
However, a majority of viewers railed against the TikToker for filming the heartfelt moment.

So you get a $10.00 sandwich, leave $30.00 and shut up about it.
No need to blab about it to everybody.

Bet the waitress was ok with it. Also, they are angry that the patron was patronizing?

To do a good deed WITHOUT seeking acknowledgement is the way Christ would have us do it. This guy is an attention whore.

Bingo! It was not about the tip, it was looooook at meeeeee.... what nonsense. Humility is non-existent. It’s all about the net and who can be seen. Get a life beyond the zeitgeist.

I guess the whole doing good deeds in secret thing doesn’t carry much weight with this guy. Matthew 6:4

Kinda, kinda not. A lot of monkey see monkey do things happen when others see that kinda thing. Paying for the car behind you in line at the drive up, that 1000 dollar breakfast club that went around last Christmas. (Everyone in a group of 10 friends brings a 100 dollar bill. Everyone has their eggs and leaves a giant tip)
People see nice things and like to copy it.

If I was working in a service industry (and I did as a teenager) and someone left me a 200% tip, I wouldn't care if he used a bullhorn to announce it. I'd be grateful.
There are more than enough two-legged worms in the world filling every day with demonstrations of just how vile they are. The people who do good deeds should advertise themselves more, just so we remember there is also good in the world.

The more noise he makes about being a Big Tipper, the more
attention and scrutiny this waitress is likely to get from her manager.
Her manager may want the lucky waitress to divide the tip for everybody working that shift. Socialism 101-style.

If he really enjoys "making someone’s day," then he should bring $100 bills with him and discretely give it to his server with a thank you.

As much as possible, we try to always tip in cash.

So?
If someone wanted to pay off my mortgage I would not only not object to him bragging about it I would pose for a picture with him.
I don't care if he is humble or a braggart.
My mortgage will be paid off.
It is like, it's the thought that counts. Not really.

I remember Sean Hannity telling the story of Rush Limbaugh saying how he always left $100 tips wherever he went because he didn't want the stories out in social media about him being a "cheap" tipper. Hannity said he started doing the same thing after that.

Sometimes my meals are too expensive for cash, but when I'm eating out alone will likely pay cash.
Lately, I've been putting everything on my credit card and paying it off at the end of the month, mostly for the convenience.

I have no idea what you mean. You did not address the point but went off on a tangent. So be it.

Not that hard to follow.

I tip cash cash so the servers can decide for themselves if they want to report it or not.
To: nickcarraway
I’ve given 100% tip a few times when the food and service was good. Dot tell anyone about it.
