The ATF is cheating on you

Are you in an abusive relationship with your government?

Sometimes it's hard to figure out what to do when the federal government breaks the law.

You know how it is. You've been in a steady relationship with a government agency for years now. You knew that it was involved in some pretty shady depravities of moonshine and tobacco. However, it had its semi-positive side in that you were forced to go through it to exercise a commonsense civil right. The bureaucracy had created the venerable 4473 form that you loved to fill out (not really, but work with us here) whenever you wanted to buy a gun from a federally licensed firearms dealer at a gun show or anywhere else.

Then you find out from a friend that the bureaucracy had gone behind your back and changed the 4473 forms, just so it could cheat on you. Trust us: the law-abiding are always the last to know. On those nights when it said it was working late, the bureaucracy was imaging the first page of the form when out with the FFLs, having cleverly set up the scheme ahead of time by rearranging the construction of the form. Goodness knows you could have been in a better relationship with a more established agency of the federal government, but you had no choice if you wanted to be able to defend yourself.

Then you caught the bureaucracy red-handed, hooking up with data on all the gun-owners in the country. Confronted with evidence of collecting data on billions of transactions, the bureaucracy denied it outright, asking, whom are you going to believe: it or your lying eyes?

Also, grandpa’s gun from 30 years ago will still be on the list, if he never sold it. My grandpa's gun which I have is a 20 gauge Winchester Model 37 Steelbilt which HAS NO SERIAL NUMBER. They didn't put numbers on them when he bought his from SEARS.

In Georgia, a private sale of a firearm isn’t illegal, nor is there a requirement for a Form 4473, background check or a bill of sale. The only requirement is that the seller cannot ‘knowingly’ sell/trade/etc. a firearm to a person ineligible to own a firearm (a convicted felon, for example).

Pretty much the same way in Arizona - not so long ago, even States like the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia were like that. All it takes to lose your rights is a willingness to trade them for a meal from the government soup kitchen....

If the next Admin, Trump or otherwise, does not crush this to oblivion, we will have voted in vain.

Maybe you think I’m talking about NOW, instead of what is coming.

The thought that, somehow, excuses on the level of ‘the dog ate my homework’ and ‘canoe accident’ will be adequate is pollyanna at best. When certain types of firearms are banned (and they eventually will be), they will come to whomever is in their system as the last owner, and hard questions will be asked, the kind with consequences attached.

Certainly a doom mentality, but it’s better to be prepared for the worst.

Whatever. Any government that will prosecute/persecute a citizen on the basis of a 20 year-old 4473, won't actually NEED the 4473; they'll be arresting people for posting 'hate speech' on the internet, or a history of 'questionable' purchases, or the 'insurrectionist' books they own.

Or maybe the government won't have to do anything, other than add your name to a list, so your 'woke' employer can fire you, your 'woke' cell phone/internet service providers can drop you, your 'woke' bank can freeze your funds, and your 'woke' credit card companies can close your accounts...
