Gilda Radner gained wide recognition in 1975, as one of the original "Not Ready for Prime Time Players" on the first season of Saturday Night Live. She was the first performer to be cast in the show, and co-wrote much of the material she performed.

I miss her comedy. She was married to Gene Wilder, another wonderful comedian.
She was the best. The original cast was the best. It’s sad the show is unwatchable now.
Dan Aykroyd is off camera feeding Radner lines in the background. Does anyone know who else is in the background? Chevy Chase maybe?
I liked Gilda as Emily Litella on SNL weekend update back in the day. She use to refer to Chevy as Cheddar.

Only 42 when she passed. When SNL focused on comedy and not woke crap.
I live in New York, unfortunately, and back then we use to have this woman Rosanna Scamardella who was a news anchor and it was thought Radner was doing an imitation of her although I never saw anything similar other than the voice.

Funny Farm is such a great book. Better and funnier than the movie. Read it if you can find a copy.
Well I have to say after watching that I’m surprised she got the job. Wow, that was like just nothing really. I did not see any talent in that and she was talented.

Most of the original cast and writers came from National Lampoon and the Radio Hour and also Second City.
