I will keep my LG G8.
You can't imagine how smart I felt when shortly after my purchase we started to hear the first report of Samsung phones bursting into flames and causing third-degree burns on people's legs and what have you. Finally, they were banned from commercial flights. By then, I was already grateful for the company's wretched customer "service" because it saved me much grief downstream.
I just got a Samsung Galaxy 21. I don’t even know all it does, I never will. I just take what the cell phone store gives me and say: “Thank you may I have another?”
I remember Ma Bell just giving me the one that was attached to the wall.
But which smart phone is best for privacy?
The one that you only use for phonecalls.
Don’t wanna buy Apple, Nike or Coke after I heard they were lobbying against forced labor in China bill. Try my best to buy things made in America. Is Samsung basically all China made? Is there anyway to get a cell phone bypassing Chinese slave/near slave labor?
Have always thought Apple products are neat, but they’re gonna lecture about supposed racial injustice in this country while being in bed with the Chinese Communists?
I only use my LGG8 to make phone calls and text and play the free games from the playstore. My tablet, I play games that I paid with my credit card.
Otherwise, I don’t put anything on my devices that I don’t want anybody to have and I don’t use4 biometrics.
At my job, when I have to use PingID to sign on the computer, I keep my phone in airplane mode until I sign on to avoid the demand for biometrics.

Samsung in general has gone to pot. An old Samsung J series outperforms anything they are putting out today. Just garbage really.
LG made some great Smartphones. I had one.
“Old”
2019
My S6 gets me what I need.
The chip whose performance they are knocking is only available on some non-US models of the phone. Samsung has done this before outside of the US. I suspect that they sell a “value” priced S22 in some markets.
LIKE! Your informative post about all things Samsung. fwiw my phone is a Sammy A51 and it does what I need it to do. The A51/ 4g LTE/ not the 5G updated version.

I only do phone calls and texting on my A51. Internet banking? I only do this on my at home legit and protected computers and laptops. I will never do this on a phone.
I only do banking in a bank machine.
If I did internet banking, it would be on an inexpensive, but new computer that I would only use for internet banking. I Would not surf on that computer or do emails, except maybe bank emails.
I love their crystal display. It’s excellent sound.
I was hoping they could have held out for an LG G9.
I might have bought that if they had made one.
Phones that aren’t Chinese, Samsung or Apple are getting pretty thin.
We are pretty much left with Nokia and Sony.
That’s assuming Nokia releases the 10 this year.
Everything I bought new from Samsung (two phones and two tablets) started out great and over time became progressively slower. Plus, android has fairly frequent issues that can be quite annoying.
I finally broke down and bought used (I can’t see spending the amount they want for new) Apple products and they’ve been great. They never get slower and always work with all of the websites.
I still have the Samsung tablets hanging around the house and the only thing I use them for is to stream Spotify to my speakers and rarely Youtube to my TVs. They’re too slow for anything else.
