He was much more of a Cicero, perhaps.

Someday people will say of somebody else who was great that they were a Rush Limbaugh!

I believe you are correct. But I think more “people “ would recognize Socrates at least as some seriously smart guy, especially in Rio Linda.

In reading that article, with many of Rush’s catchphrases, i had occasion to remember how much his program was part of my everyday life.

And how horribly different the world has been since. But i sense some serious change coming. And i am hopeful, deep inside.

Rarely has one man brought so much wisdom and happiness to others for so long a time. He is fondly remembered. We miss him.

My 25 year old son called the day Rush died, weeping. If I were traveling on business, usually driving, he would send me audios of the RLS so I could listen....my son was in high school at the time.

My son will never be rich, but I feel like a rich man because his head is screwed on right.

I miss Rush, but I know there is an army of ditto heads out there ready to change the world.

I turned off my radio the day Rush died, and I haven't turned it on since. I doubt I'll ever turn it on again.

Like Ben Franklin and Mark Twain, Rush Limbaugh was the kind of talent that only comes along once in a century. He's irreplaceable.

Wasn’t Socrates a homosexual pederast, or portrayed as such by Plato?

The fact that humanists derive so much from this figure is unnerving, and thus I would not compare Rush to him.

I have mentioned previously that when Rush passed away I began organizing all of the podcasts I had downloaded over the decades. I happened to hit play on one from 2007,when Billary was the frontrunner, and Obambi was just a young upstart. I continue to listen in order. Operation Chaos has come and gone. Amazing!

Most of the time each podcast has plenty of timeless wisdom. He is, truly, the Socrates of the Airwaves. I marvel at the way he constructs and explains. As Rush often stated, his mouth cannot keep up with his brain. Every week, time after time, he relates the current events in their historical perspective.

It is also timely since we know Obambi and his minions are really in charge today. In May 2008 Billary is in major trouble, Obambi is babbling without the help of a teleprompter, and McCain is just lame. It is now early August 2008. Cannot wait for Sarah Palin to come on the scene.

Thank you much for posting this. Wonderful article. Like a great artist, Limbaugh knew how to paint the U.S. in the best light. And he did it with grace and humor.
