Auto cargo ship fire, Felicity Ace
Anybody know?
I doubt it. they were VW and Porsche automobiles
Even if there were some electric Porsche cars, they would have been shipped with a low battery charge to prevent the risk of fire.

The last paragraph of that last article is especially interesting.
189 Bentlys on board. Ouch.
Both Porche and VW make EVs so it’s possible, but fires were destroying ships long before electricity was even discovered...
VW does make the immensely popular ID.4 EV.
How do you like your Bently? Smoked, rare or well done?
Another article points out that VW lost a lot of cars on a ro/ro in 2019.
Even if the batteries are most discharged, they are still slightly charged, to quote TPB.
The longer it goes the more likely it is EV’s
I have informed my frau her birthday present is adrift and on fire in the Atlantic. she is somewhat sceptical.
I guess I will have to wait now that my new Porsche has burned up.
I better get my deposit back.
Don’t overlook the possibility of Ins Fraud
Yeah I know, it is pretty unlikely.
the Volkswagon group would never try to commit fraud
True. VW fiddled with their diesel engine fuel mileage numbers, didn’t they?
There’s so much demand for new cars right now it’s not like the mfgrs would want to dump inventory. A lot of stuff is selling at a premium. So if this is done on purpose they are really screwing their dealers.
