TikTok hair influencer Laura Ashley may be one of the no ’poo trend’s best successes — and all it took was going six years without using shampoo or conditioner.
Ashley, 27, claims her hair went from “pin straight” to curled and sweeping, thanks to ditching traditional cleansers and adopting a raw, vegan diet.
“My thing is, if I can’t pronounce it or I don’t know what it is, I’m going to try and stay away from it,” she told South West News Service of the chemical-laden fine print shown on most store-bought shampoos. The California thrift shop owner said she wasn’t convinced that humans actually need to wash their hair.

Nope..... the real question is whether Laz would hit that.
What does not eating meat/dairy/cheese got to do with her hair? It would still look the same regardless what she eats.
Actually, it is humans using body products that create a lot of body odor or skin problem. My hubby hasn’t used deodorant for 30myears and he does not have an underarm order problem. I use it and am happy but he doesn’t like it so hasn’t used it and he is probably better off.
I’ve seen Cockapoos with better doos.

She also doesn’t seem to use a comb or brush, and those have been around for millenia.
She is using homemade cleansers. She has simply stopped using shampoo.

I wouldn’t call her hair gorgeous, and I don’t know why no shampoo means that brushes are also out, but good for her. People use more chemicals and processed items on their skin and in their bodies than they probably need to, and instead of continuing to try more and different stuff, maybe backing off drastically is what makes someone feel more healthy and happy.
Sephora and Ulta and Revlon and the rest of the multi-billion dollar beauty industry won’t make a dime without perpetuating a societal belief that your skin looks terrible if you don’t buy things from their companies. Less of that in the world would be objectively better.
But why the article in the first place? What caused this article to go to print (digitally of course)? Maybe there was some innocence involved, but it’s the New York Post, surely they could have found a New Yorker who gave up shampoo years ago, nope, they went with a ditzy looking white woman who works in a California thrift shop. Straight out of central casting. The whole writeup was a setup to get hate clicks from people who want to jump on the “look at the smelly hippy” train, who will then beg on the smelly hippies to respond back with “oh yeah, my hair has never even seen soap and my lifemate thinks I’m beautiful” and so on and soforth just dumbing down society and keeping us fighting over petty stuff that doesn’t matter.
Yeah, yeah, you rally want me to believe that? You should be able to smell her six blocks away! If she is real she probably has lice to go along with the other cooties.
