If I recall, President Ford didn't get injured bad when he fell down the stairs (though it was funny irony since Ford had won the Heisman).

I believe Chevy hurt his back while imitating Ford falling. LOL

True. I hadn’t seen his Ford sketches since they aired, so
I checked youtube. Boy, did they stink.

Back in the day, I occasionally watched the original snl bunch, and couldn’t figure out how that guy made the cut. He wasn’t very funny. Monotone voice, one dimensional.

Ford was an athlete. Even with the age difference Ford likely would have knocked chevvee on his butt when doing full pads across the line from each other.

Days before being selected as Agnew’s replacement, then congessman Ford was speaking at a GOP fundraiser in Kewanee, IL. The locals also provided Ford’s transportation back to DC, with my dad the pilot (the bird, a noisy Piper Aztec). Dad said Ford was just swell the whole way, friendly, could listen as good as talk, and was not the slightest bit impressed with himself.
