Gray wolves will regain federal protection across most of the lower 48 United States following a court ruling Thursday that struck down a Trump Administration decision to take the animals off the endangered species list.
Senior District Judge Jeffrey S. White, of United States District Court for the Northern District of California, found that the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, in declaring wolf conservation a success and removing the species from federal protection, did not adequately consider threats to wolves outside of the Great Lakes and Northern Rocky Mountains where they have rebounded most significantly.
Although the decision to delist wolves came under the Trump administration, the Biden administration has defended it in court.

Establish a couple of large packs in Central Park.
So the judge declares that he knows more about wolves than the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Sigh.
Ranchers will love this.

FOLLOW THE SCIENCE!
Except when it gets in the way of our agendas!
Supposed to be a couple (or more, in my area). A mountain kitty took out a donkey 3 or 4 years ago. Foxes and deer are everywhere.
There's talk of that...and mammoths, too.
Not joking.
2. The Northern District of California thinks it's the Supreme Court.
I believe several fenced areas are available in DC that would be highly suitable for wolf living and eating.
I want video.
Well, that’s even worse.
Plenty of prey, Er....homeless.
That’s what the buffalo commons is all about.🙄
Yup. SSS.
“Ranchers will love this”
SSS and cut off any tracking collar and throw it in a river.
According to Wikipedia, the grey wolf status is LC - least concern!
That means they are not at all endangered or threatened. The LC actually basically means they are pests! In some countries, they are considered pests and shoot on sight is the rule.
But in the USA, they are consider endangered an animal which is not too common is some specific area, which is total nonsense!
Kind of like stating that Zebra is extinct in the USA!
There have been few “possible” sighting a jaguar in Arizona
(maybe three guys, one died). They characterized jaguar as endangered species in the US and created a huge reserve.
They are suing to remove the border fence to help jaguar and they are trying to shut down the Rosemont mine project.
Well, there are jaguars all over south and central America and, by the way, they are jungle animals, needing water, while AZ is desert.
But, since there are none in the USA, we must protect them here!
The muggers are already there, and theu won't like competition.
The global wild wolf population was estimated to be 300,000 in 2003 and is considered to be of Least Concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Good. Once they are done with the wolves, perhaps they will extend Federal Protection to American Citizens, we need it more than the wolves.
