Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov has revealed details of the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Joe Biden shortly after the phone talks concluded on Saturday evening.
Speaking to reporters during a media briefing, Ushakov revealed that the talks were staged on Washington’s request with the US citing fears of an allegedly imminent ‘invasion’ of Ukraine by Russia. The Putin-Biden talks were originally scheduled to take place on Monday, the official added.
“The conversation came amid an atmosphere of unprecedented hysteria by US officials over Russia’s supposedly imminent ‘invasion’ of Ukraine,” Ushakov stated.

Over the past few months, top Western officials and media have repeatedly accused Moscow of seeking to attack Ukraine, with the allegedly looming ‘invasion’ repeatedly described as “imminent.” No solid evidence to back up such claims, however, has ever emerged.
The latest batch of claims came earlier on Saturday, when multiple media outlets cited anonymous sources who claimed that Moscow could attack Kiev next Wednesday. Moscow has consistently denied the allegations, maintaining it harbors no plans to attack Ukraine or anyone else.

Well, if Russia doesn’t invade by Tuesday then it’ll start getting too warm for armor to get around off road. That’s their window for an invasion and their movements of late have put the pieces in place to support an invasion.
Now maybe it’s just a drill like Putin says it is.
If nothing happens before it warms up on Wednesday then the concern and worry will be for nothing.
I hope that’s the case.

Biden and co are such terrible negotiators. They put all their cards on the table, we will do this, we won’t do that, etc. then they get played on each of the points they have forwarded.

The evidence is not immediately obvious to everyone. That there is armor and troops massed on Ukraine’s border are disturbing on their own and Russia does not dispute the fact of Russian forces deployed along the Ukrainian frontier.
Putin claims this is all just a drill. That may be the case.
The concern is that satellite pictures show a significant movement of logistical support and personnel that far exceeds what Russia typically deploys for drills or maneuvers and Zapad 17 (a massive training exercise in the same theatre) set the bar for logistical support.
Currently the Russians have deeper logistical support for this ‘drill’ than they did for Zapad 17.
Maybe that’s part of the drill.
But one of my friends who is still active duty says the Russians are kitted out for either a long campaign in Ukraine or a sightseeing trip to Berlin.
That’s part of why you see the Euros crapping themselves is because there’s not much to stop the Russians from going to Berlin or anywhere else in Europe if they wanted to do so right now.
Which has me thinking of how the Democrats disarmed the USA under the so-called “Peace Dividend” and now here we are scrambling to get our proverbial pants on to defend against an enemy who didn’t go away he just took some time off.

also, reading between the lines, the REAL issue is that russia will go to war with ukraine if and only if any attempt is made by ukraine to join NATO, and you really can’t blame russia for wanting to keep ukraine out of NATO ...
in fact, he’d be doing the U.S. a favor by insisting on that because, theoretically, if ANY NATO country is attacked, the U.S. is obligated to intervene, which in and of itself is why the U.S. should exit NATO, anyway ... let the damn europeans fight their own damn wars for a change ...

Just as many of my FRiends doubt the official administration information about COVID, I doubt this description of Rollover Biden’s talk with Putin. My Ukraine friends see Biden in a Wag the Dog mode to boost his ratings. In Biden’s case he will roll over and wag his tail.
