NBC Admits Genocide Games Major Ratings Bust: ‘For Us, It’s Been Difficult. There’s No Way Around This

NBC has publicly addressed its low-rated broadcast of the Genocide Games, with a senior network executive describing the situation as “difficult” while blaming the pandemic for the low level of enthusiasm.

In a conference call with reporters Thursday,  NBC Sports chairman Pete Bevacqua laid out a grim assessment of the past week.

“For us, it’s been difficult. There’s no way around this,” he said, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.

“The fact that we’ve been able to bring these Games to life during a pandemic with only a six-month window between the two [Olympics], the ratings are — of course we always want to have the ratings better — but the ratings for these Games, as I said, are about where we thought they’d be.”

He blamed COVID restrictions for the lack of “passion and excitement” that typically surrounds the Olympics.

“It’s no secret that athletes in masks, venues without spectators, so much of the passion and excitement, those great moments of Olympic athletes hugging their family and friends and spouses and partners, so much of that magic is just out of necessity not present.”

Bevacqua didn’t appear to address widespread public disgust at NBC for glorifying China and sidestepping the CCP’s numerous human rights atrocities.

As Breitbart News reported, TV ratings for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games have reached catastrophic lows, with NBC on track for lowest-rated Winter Games in history.

NBC is using the Olympics to aggressively push the Peacock streaming service, which has failed to ignite much consumer enthusiasm since it was launched in 2020.

Years ago, a dear friend who was the assistant principal in a nearby school district, participated in a faculty planned outing at a local curling club.

It didn't turn out so well for him, he slipped and fell on the ice and fractured his pelvis which required surgery.........

That was the beginning and end of his curling career.......LOL!

NBC is hoping the next event coming up involving hunting down Uyghurs prisoners will boost the ratings.....

The Winter Games always get crap ratings, Americans don’t really like any of these sports. And any games that are more than 4 hours off from American time zones get crap ratings, because all the action is happening while we’re at work or asleep and we find out the results before NBC shows anything.

Now as for their “2 Olympics within 6 months”, welcome to the old days pal. Used to have 2 Olympics every election year. Back when journalists put in some work.

“I can’t wait for competitive beer pong.........LOL!”

Our rationale was that neither curling nor cornhole we’re likely invented by people who were completely sober.

Curling in PMSCNBC is so full of commercials you lose the flow of the game. Curling on USA network is much better.

“why don’t you guys’ pipe Xi’s eye like they did to Harry Reid.”

I’m not sure what you said, but it looks funny as hell. Carry on, Sir Knight.

Not ignoring L.A. I doubt it will be as great as ‘84 but I’m hoping for my son’s sake. Hoping to go.

Exactly. I used to love the tradition. Including all Olympics in one year….then having to wait a long time. Which makes it more cherished! My biggest gripe is Olympics and president election all occurring same LEAP year. I’d like Olympics to be on the current Winter schedule.

I watched a couple of minutes at a bar in Morgan County, Indiana, but the patrons made the bar maid shut it off.

It’s just my personal prescription. I don’t begrudge anyone watching stuff if they’re interested. Tomorrow I’m gonna ignore the Super Bowl. Used to watch it with mild interest for many a year. Some of the games were very good but I’ve moved on from that stage in my life where I watched too much sports for my own good. I now watch close to zero sports on tv but I may watch something on occasion in the future if my interest gets piqued again.

As a kid I always thought it was silly we put all this extra stuff in the year with 1 extra day, it was way more than 1 day’s stuff. As an adult who’d rapidly gotten tired of American politics I liked having both Olympics in election year, good to get away from our clown show for a while. And clown show is so much worse now.

Pandemic? How about “let’s not celebrate the country that brought us the pandemic”?
