I agree, and suspect they also recognize they have lost control and are powerless to stop it. They have tried to paint the protestors as violent, NAZIs, racists, Russian sympathizers, etc., none of which anybody believes, so now they are left with only tyrannical solutions. So, as is the norm, DHS, which was supposed to be an administrative ‘clearing house’ where reps from the various agencies could de-conflict investigations, share information and coordinate. Of course, in typical government fashion it is far from that and, given the fact that it consolidated a few federal law enforcement agencies and now has its own federal agents, as well, and is now a behemoth.
On a side note, its agents have no real mandate, like the DEA-ATF-SecSer, etc, so they just kind of do what they want, help out local departments.
On another side note, since DHS has gotten so big and the FBI is mandated to ‘secure the country domestically’, why do we have two agencies, presumably, doing the same thing. Seems like lots of money could be saved.
Anywho....realizing that the Secretary of this agency doesn’t necessarily need to be a veteran or former LEO, although it would be nice to have someone that was, it boggles my mind when I look into the backgrounds of the people that ascend in these agencies.
Go to Wikipedia and look at her background, from college to now. What in the world does she know, about anything?
It is no wonder all of these people hated President Trump. Coming from the private sector, you had to actually know what you were doing and talking about, otherwise you were on the unemployment line. Government, it doesn’t matter if you know the difference between a Glock and a salad fork, you can be a Deputy Director/Advisor/Dep Assistant/whatever, as long as you’re a member of the right party and they want to take care of you.
She is an absolute nightmare. And to think, she’s been in meetings, given her perspective on things and there are people that actually think she knows what she’s talking about.
