Some people are just plain jealous.

I like her relationship with her Grandma.

Why do we have to hate all Chinese people just because Xi is an ass?

Yes I believe it’s unfair to pin all of China’s politics onto her.

However the massive anger directed at its Communist Party (especially in the midst of Covid!) is more than warranted - including toward all their enablers like the International Olympic Committee, not to mention the World Health Organization…

We are living in a time where so many average people’s lives have been upended. And China makes for an obvious scapegoat due to its global prowess especially in economics.

Anyway Gu is only 18. And she may be the bright American light China needs in an otherwise dark stage.

And we have so many great Chinese-Americans performing at the highest level for Team USA, which must be acknowledged. Nathan Chen comes to mind.

Gu was likely paid to compete for China, who do not allow dual citizenship, so Gu is theoretically no longer a US citizen.

Nope. China allows it through age 18. The second Gu turns 19, she will have to choose. She would be nuts not to keep the American citizenship, which I expect she will.

Strip her US citizenship. Cancel her.

China doesn't allow dual citizenship and I read elsewhere that she renounced her US citizenship to compete for China. I will almost guarantee she will try to regain her US citizenship after she's whored herself out for CCP propaganda.

Gu gets curiouser and curiouser. From Breitbart.

Chinese state media claims Gu became a naturalized subject of the Chinese Communist government three years ago, a transition that would have required renouncing her American citizenship, since China does not recognize dual citizenships.

Canada’s Globe and Mail observed over the weekend that China’s team includes some foreign players who apparently were not required to become Chinese citizens.

The South China Morning Post reported last week that some online Chinese nationalists are worried that Gu might have been granted some extraordinary dual citizenship arrangement, or that she might be insufficiently loyal to China. .....“ Her name is not on the list of people who have given up U.S. citizenship on the Federal Register, foreign media reported that she has dual citizenship.

I'll bet some exception has been or will be granted to claim glory for China. Rules, rules...mere inconveniences.

IOC does not require citizenship. Two years residency will work.
