I remember it to cost about .50/gal then. Adjusted for inflation:
$3.15/gal.
Here in Germany, some have called for banning the term "Altweibersommer" ("Old Women's Summer" - meaning essentially the same thing as "Indian summer") on account of it being "sexist."
