18 states did not report deaths today. The U.S. government is allegedly ending daily COVID-19 death reporting beginning Feb. 2?

Worldometer - Wikipedia

Worldometer is known to have fast data, not necessarily accurate data, and they get their data wherever they can find it, so they do not have standards of accuracy.

"Edouard Mathieu, the data manager of Our World in Data, stated that "Their main focus seems to be having the latest number [of COVID-19 cases] wherever it comes from, whether it’s reliable or not, whether it’s well-sourced or not."[6]

Virginia Pitzer, a Yale University epidemiologist, said that the site is "legitimate", but flawed, inconsistent, and containing errors.[6]"

The problem with that theory is the entire world uses the site. If they were not tracking some country well, someone would have made an issue of it — most likely to the website to get it fixed.

And they would have fixed it.

Only deaths really matter. Cases depend on how many felt like getting tested, incidental hospital testing, false negatives or positives.

But largely, dead is dead.

As we have discussed, it is disquieting that reports of no more death tracking emerged in January.

But of the state total not reporting today, only Tennessee looked worrisome and it may catch up. The death count today was 150ish below same day last week. Tennessee could add to that. Texas looked a little light, too.

A springtime approaching death count decline is likely, but the curve should not be vertical down. We’ll know from its appearance if we really are outright lacking lots of hospitals reporting.

The only ones that it is disquieting to are the gullible vaxxers.

I’d note that more conservative states did not report than liberal states that did not report — and all the big blue states reported, I believe.

Perhaps Tennessee may have had trouble getting data from ice storm areas?

BTW, check out S. Korea’s curves. I’m guessing they were late to the party with Delta, which gave their truly Orwellian mitigation a good test. It’s rather looking like Omicron may break through it. I’d also note that SK’s effective CFR with Delta was almost as high as their prior wave, running around 1.1%. I’m not sure what they were doing for vaccines or treatments...

I’d also throw in that Worldometer’s numbers for daily cases or fatalities the most recent day or two, are sometimes a bit whacky, but,

A) They usually are not hugely off JHU’s numbers,

B) Given more time they usually settle in to other sources well.

C) Rarely do the numbers drop as confirmations come in. CDC’s history of reports on flu deaths, preliminary and final, is quite illuminating.

Ah, the gathering of trustworthy :numbers" and statistics by trustworthy sources.... In fact, "illuminating."

"CDC estimates* that, from October 1, 2021 through January 29, 2022, there have been: 1,200 – 3,500 flu deaths

China "official" Covid deaths as of 8 February 2022:

Build the Wall is a core item of conservatism.

But the virus is hard to call a Biden scam when 600+ per day die of it in Russia.

i didn’t call the kung flu a “biden scam”...

biden’s, the cdc’s, and the world health organization’s actions and double standards prove the kung flu is a scam...

Good call on S. Korea. I had not looked at them recently.

Omicron has gotten into Asia. Hong Kong has a case spike underway. 0 deaths. I do wonder how you get a case spike in general. People have to be pretty sick to get tested.

Singapore is enduring a similar spike with 3 dead. Densely packed cities, but that doesn’t seem to be decisive. Taiwan is one of the most densely populated places on earth and they have from day 1 had few issues.

600 die of covid every day in Russia. They don’t care about any US border policies. Peru lost 1000s to Lambda and they are in the midst of their own Omicron surge.

They don’t care about Biden or the CDC. Probably not much about the WHO, either. Whatever conspiracy you envision, you must explain how it works in countries that don’t care about US policies.

dood, the virus doesn’t care about their actions. Why should you?

If you’re dead, it doesn’t matter who gives what speech.

we’re all born to die...

your constant fear preaching and worrying about how and when it happens won’t stop the process...

It's not a theory.

Worldometer's website states that it obtains sources from government agencies and other places, and specifically mentions the CDC. So the CDC spreads propaganda that WorldOmeter repeats, giving the false appearane of a second, validating source.

They are under reporting the dead - look at the sudden bloom of 'unclassified' deaths the CDC is reporting. It's all propaganda and you are one of the people pretending it's valid, spreading the fake news.
