A rough first showing at the Beijing Winter Olympics for U.S.-born Chinese figure skater Zhu Yi continued on Monday after she fell twice during the final event in the team competition before breaking down in tears on the ice.
Zhu, who was born in California but gave up her American citizenship to compete for China in 2018, began the women’s free skate event well, landing both her first two jumps before falling on a triple-flip attempt, according to Yahoo Sports.

Glad she is skating for China.
She might be regretting giving up her US citizenship as the Chinese could well be sending her to the same gulag as their recently disappeared tennis player.

Maybe Chinese citizenship ain’t what it’s cracked up to be.
Mainland Chinese immigrants are a fifth column in the United States. We need to end all immigration from that evil country and have all Chinese immigrants in the United States not maintain citizenship in said country. Change my mind (you won’t).
And this time, we won’t be able to do the internment camps, like we did the Japanese. And really, back then, the Japanese here were a miniscule threat, compared to what the Chinese would be.
More than once, I thought in jest, that maybe we should have helped the Japs after all, if I knew how it would turn out.
Not going to try because I agree, with some exceptions (like they are defectors or fleeing persecution from Hong Kong etc).
