Whi!e the GOP governor and legislature in WV should be commended for a budget surplus, I find it mystifying that so ca!led conservatives bend over backwards to spend the largess. One would think a rainy day fund and tax cuts would be the priorities as mentioned by Mr. Loganacre.

How does the state plan to bank these funds for a rainy day?

To-date tax collections for the fiscal year total $540.8M! No two ways about it, that’s a lot of revenue for any state.
Now awaiting Bette Midler’s comment on this performance by a “backward” state?

I don’t see that state revenues going way up is necessarily a good thing. I would see an increase in the difference between the revenues and the spending as good though.
