Problem Donating

Posted on 01/28/2022 2:51:23 PM PST by TomS

I can not get my credit card donation to work. Never had this problem before using the same cc (member over 25 yrs). I know all my entered info is correct. Suggestions?

I know nothing about Capital One but in general these institutions are enacting these procedures for our protection because of the scam artists and hackers out there. The scams are real. I know you know all this.

Just moving to another bank may not help over the long term as these authentication methods have become commonplace.

The mobile phone text authentication method is pretty fast and non-eventful. I have no problem with it. Your phone situation sounds like an exception / less normal situation.

Usually they offer another authentication method using email which would seem to be one you could use.

That is why I only use cash at restaurants.

of course I only eat out once or twice per year so it’s not a biggie

I have problems with an online company when I make a purchase-my browser (mozilla FF) does a auto fill thing, and they do it wrong with the datecode of the card’s expiration date. The autofill thing formats the datecode as mm/yyyy, and the merchant wants mm/YY, or vice-versa. And it gets rejected because of that. Kind of hard to notice.

Send me a picture of the front and back of your credit card, along with your billing address, and I’ll see what I can do for you.
