I can not get my credit card donation to work. Never had this problem before using the same cc (member over 25 yrs). I know all my entered info is correct. Suggestions?
PM Jim.
I know this does not solve your CC issue with FR,
but can also use PayPal. I realize you want to know why it is not working.
Good luck.
What is your Social Credit score?🤪
Yep, I go through PayPal for FR donations too. Allows me to use checking account so that FR doesn’t have to pay a CC transactional fee.
Check if you got a text from the bank.
I tried to my card today and it got rejected, even though I entered everything correctly. Ended up using a different card. Then I noticed I got a text from the bank saying, “Did you attempt...Yes=1, No=2.” Entered 1 and got, “...Please retry. Your card is ready to use.”
Personally I am finding these banking institutions are getting totally ANAL with security measures.
Capital One for one on their online banking. So bad I moved 99% of my savings, OUT OF THERE.
I could access my account for transfers fine. They recently started allowing account beneficiarys. But online they wanted to ‘verify me’. So for the first time I used my cell number. Only way to do it. They won’t accept my cell number. My son got the phone(s) for us. Don’t know how but they have access to the name on the phone account. How I don’t know. They say the address doesn’t match either. So out of 5 things we strike out all all.
What happened to the simple, send a text with a code for us to type in on the webpage?
An America citizen is guilty on so many levels, until we prove (verify) our innocence.
Oh, and if you have an Amazon account, don't forget to include your password and user name.
The card, or your last card statement, should have a customer service number you can call. You can see if the card may have been suspended for some reason.
until we prove (verify) our innocence.
Unless, of course, you are voting.
OMGOODNESS, you had better add the /Sarc tag. There will be some old Blue Hair or Baldy that will read that and believe you, even if they forget to wear a mask and look rebellious.

Re: PayPal
If PayPal does not charge a transaction fee to Free Republic, how does PayPal make money?
About 20 years ago I used my credit card in a restaurant in Tampa. The next day, or the day after that, I got a phone call from VISA security asking if I had bought $1,000 worth of stereo equipment in New York City the day before. I told them no and they said, "We didn't think so". They cancelled that card and sent me a new one and the stereo equipment never showed up on my bill.
Use FReeper Mail to send a note to Jim Robinson where you can communicate in private.
Current credit card fraud detection algorithms are VERY sophisticated. They track your spending patterns and look for suspicious deviations. They also track point-of-sale purchase locations and look for unusual deviations and distance-over-time jumps. It is very impressive and scary.
Good one! Ain’t that the truth ... or the coming reality if the Democrat/Communists prevail (which I don’t think they will)
Call the number on the back and ask them why. I would no own a card without that number on the back to call.
15 years ago,I was living in Maryland at time. Used my Amex in restaurant I’d never been to.
2 days later got call from AMEX asking if I had purchased 3 surf boards in Toronto Canada.
Lots servers with card skimmers around even then.
