Before that happened homosexuality was known as SSAD- Same Sex Affection Disorder.
My youngest brother was homosexual, but I never knew until after his death (at 41 years old). He had lived in San Francisco for a dozen or more years, not married. It never dawned on me that he might be queer. He didn't have the faggy aura.

Spoke only broadly in my initial post, let me get a bit more specific. Sometimes one member of a family has been sexually abused but another hasn’t. Person may keep this secret and it’s not exactly something one would publicly broadcast. Unhealed wound in one person but not another may be a reason he acts so differently.
Some families are big. Maybe father is a really warm close figure for the first child or two or three. Get up to 5 or 8 or 9 kids and it may be old hat. Maybe a father isn’t as warm or close to a son who is child number 9. Because of a growing family does the father have to work longer hours? Is he away from home traveling? Wife sick? Requiring more attention? Divorce, so he’s no longer even on the scene? Personally know of a situation where a father started drinking as the children came. Drunk, sleeping a lot, not there for the youngest son who is gay while the other kids are straight.
Maybe one child has a much stronger sex drive. Or rebellious against religious parents and wants to show it. Some girls from troubled homes, looking for attention, aren’t same sex attracted but go into lesbianism because it’s faddish and hip. Laura Ingraham had a great segment last night. 12-year-old girl tried to hang herself twice. Sickos at school grooming her for months, having meetings with her about “gender”, calling her by a boy’s name. Segment featured her father and lawyer.
Finally, I don’t want to come across as denying anything Holy Scripture teaches without error about the admissibility of homosexual acts. My church, the Catholic Church, teaches very plainly that such acts are wrong and why they’re wrong. We’ve had scandalous leadership in recent decades that will not apply these timeless teachings, but payouts even requiring bankruptcy filings are curing this. My point is simply: When wounds of sexual abuse are healed, when fatherly closeness is healed maybe with the presence of a warm counselor, many men’s compulsion to act up fades considerably, giving Grace so much more ability to triumph over things done formerly in a state of anxiety.
“San Francisco”
Had a cousin who lived in San Francisco. Second of four children. Difficult time in his early childhood. Father, taking on more responsibility, traveling salesman. Kind of an open secret cousin’s gay. Kind of a more sensitive male. But his mother, late father, three other siblings are very religious. Incessant prayer. This cousin left San Francisco a few years ago and came back to Kettering, Ohio. Apparently sick of the lifestyle. Nephew’s a FSSP priest. Prayer works. We don’t know another’s wounds and challenges. Never despair. Have great hope for your brother because the Savior is SO MERCIFUL.
