The cause is still unclear: When a US fighter jet tries to land on an aircraft carrier in the South China Sea, an accident occurs. The jet crashes, the pilot is able to save himself by ejecting. Several sailors are injured on deck.
At least seven sailors were injured when an F-35 fighter jet crashed while attempting to land on a US aircraft carrier in the South China Sea. Three were taken to the hospital in Manila, Philippines, after the "accident," the US Navy said. Her condition was therefore stable.
The other four injured received medical treatment on board the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. Three of them have since been released. According to the report, the pilot of the F-35C jet was able to save himself by ejecting and was recovered by a military helicopter. He is said to be in stable condition.
A spokesman for the 7th Naval Fleet in Japan called the impact on the flight deck "superficial". The warship and its air squadron would have resumed normal operations. The cause of the accident is still being determined.
The crash is the first for an F-35C, a variant of the US Navy's single-engine stealth fighter designed for use on aircraft carriers. Versions of the F-35 are also flown by US allies and partners including Japan, South Korea, Britain, Australia, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands and Israel.
I have 6 reserve parachute deployments in my short skydiving career. One axiom that stood out over that span of time- when in doubt whip it out!
Also, this one- he who hesitates shall inherit the earth forever, amen.

Now we have to recover the plane before the Chinese do.
could swear I read something similar to this a few weeks ago, except we had to recover a plane before the Russians did.
I don’t know how it is today but back in the 90s the Carl Vinson was the Armpit of the Navy
The soviets had female snipers and combat pilots, but that is a different culture that probably does not see females as “the weaker sex” needing protection from males.

Roger. Was that source the UK’s JNEWS website?
Guessing that someone onboard the carrier likely first posted it to a social media account such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram...
