@DanaPeRINO ??

No, thanks.

I’ll look for the Sarah segment.

I wonder if anyone, on Fox, interviewed RFK Jr, tonight.

He did fine. It was better than his weekend show. He also had decent guests. Time will tell if he makes it serious news or comedy.

I believe he will make it a serious news show as long as he keeps Gutfeld off of it.

I don't have a problem with Gutfeld's style, but Gutfeld has boundary and impulse control issues and too often (in my opinion) inserts his brand of humor into normal discussions of the news (see tonight's The Five when Perino mentioned the word "impotent" to describe how Biden ended his first year in office).

Gutfeld needs to respect the time and place for his humor, but he can't seem to control his baser instincts. If he frequents Watters' show, he will just bring it down. He can't help himself.

Watters is best as a "red meat" host who has like-minded guests to discuss the news. He doesn't need to be a "fair and balanced" left and right panel host. Leave that the Bret Baier and the Sunday show.

Perino didn’t say that she quoted it being said in the news cycle.

Perino didn’t say that she quoted it being said in the news cycle.

They were talking about the recent polling showing that 60% of Americans would vote for someone else in 2024. Jeanine Piro was moderating the segment. She went to Dana Perino first, saying the NBC's Chuck Todd said that Biden was "no longer seen as competent and effective."

Perino said that "when the I-word - 'incompetent' - starts creeping into the mainstream media coverage, that is a really big red flag." Then she said, "There was another I-word that started to pop up last week also in mainstream media, and that was 'impotent.'"

Piro then quipped, "I'm not going to go to Greg next, then..."

It doesn't matter if Perino was quoting "the news cycle." Perino used the word and it triggered Gutfeld. That was my point. Gutfeld heard it and he responded by saying of Biden, "it's a hard job, he is soft on crime, flaccid numbers.."

Wrong time and place for his humor. Save it for the late-night show.

Fortunately for them, the next segment got bumped when Biden called Peter Doocy "a stupid SOB."

Pretty good. Capable of devastating monologues. Seen excellent ones on his Saturday night show. Weakest when talking about himself. Unfortunately has picked up a bit of O’Reilly’s ego, self-obsession, and my book, my book, my book thing. Don’t care much for Jon Stewart but when on with O’Reilly one time he said, “You have a book out?” I laughed. From 7 to 11 now, Fox has five hours that start out with pretty good monologues. This past Friday when the March For Life was held, Laura Ingraham used the event to launch into a the Democrats are waging a war on our children monologue. She said from abortion to gender theory with COVID school nonsense, they are literally destroying children. Her first guest then said that was an “Excellent” opening. I highly recommend watching it if it’s still available.

You start by saying that you don't have problem with Gutfeld's style and then list the problems with Gutfeld's style.

Like Quinn's Law says, "Everything before the word 'but', is bullshit".

Since Gutfeld's style is too mature/immature for you, don't watch him.

I was warming up to Watters, but on his last Watters World roundup he included a segment ( along the lines of) ‘
‘why did you call Melania a hooker’
......to Perez Hilton

...and let Perez answer

And then Jesse said ‘would you call Michelle Obama a hooker’

I found the question way out of line, insulting and if I was Melania watching, I would never watch him again!!!

I would give him a “Prety Good”, maybe even a B+. Given that I’ve been spoiled by 3 decades of Rush, an A+, that’s a pretty good rating. I would give Tucker an A-. his endless promotions of his streaming shows and his goofy anti-war guests take away a lot of shine.

Watters has two traits that I dislike. He doesn’t carry on conversations with his guests, and his ego gets in his own way too often.

He never listens to his guests. It always starts with a question, then he busily focuses on coming up with another “great” question rather than listening to the answer. He often even interrupts a guest who is making a good point to then totally change the subject.

His ego can be illustrated by his book title: “How I saved the World”, or something like that. He never even promotes that in a humorous light. I still haven’t figured out if it’s intended to be humorous, of if he really thinks it’s true.

That all said, his first show was worth watching. I have no intention of watching three hours of TV each night (news, Watters, and Tucker). I’ll have to see what happens next.

i love jesse to pieces, but he’s trying WAY to hard (and unnecessarily) to jazz up a news show with stupid gimicks ... reminds me of when Shemp first started out, explaining how he was going to wander around multiple desks in the studio instead of sitting down ... big innovation there, shemp standing instead of sitting ...,

You misstate my point, unintentionally I hope.

I said I don't have a problem with his style in his late-night setting.

I think it detracts from a political round-table discussion of serious topics at the dinner hour, which has been historically a suit-and-tie venue. He's sharing a table with a former Congressman, a former White House press secretary, and a former district attorney/judge, and he's the one making dick jokes.

Just like how one might wear a tee-shirt to a bachelor party but more formal attire to a wedding, one should be respectful of the straight-news forums and save the ribald for the comedy hour.

Gutfeld has been a staple of the Five since it's inception over 5 years ago, and is a big part of it's success.

I personally 'hate' his "poo, shit, hot tub, fag, trans jokes", but that is Gutfeld's sweet spot and he won't give it up.

I don't like them at 5 or 11, but if I want to laugh at 90% of the Gutfeld show, I have to endure his infantile toilet jokes.

He is a short man and probably has a short dick, so he makes toilet jokes.

Defensive mechanism at it's finest.

I agree with you on this post.

I watch it with family members. They watch it for the humor of the other guests.

As I said in a prior thread a few months ago, it lets the Fox viewers see the hosts "let their hair down."

I won't pollute this Watters thread with any more Gutfeld talk. If you want to see my deeper thoughts, go to directly to this post from the above linked thread.

I gave this show a chance, but it's coming off my DVR series recording schedule. Yesterday's show was too much.

I'm tired of the three-minute interview format, but the endless looping of beat-downs and baseball bat attacks is too much.

I can see showing it once while setting up the story, but running the loop endlessly while the guest expert is talking is both distracting and unflattering to the guest who is unaware of what is on the screen while they are dispassionately discussing the issue.

I like his points-of-view on The Five, but I think Greg Gutfeld writes smarter op-eds, so Jesse Watters Primetime is coming off of my TV schedule.
