He did fine. It was better than his weekend show. He also had decent guests. Time will tell if he makes it serious news or comedy.
I believe he will make it a serious news show as long as he keeps Gutfeld off of it.
I don't have a problem with Gutfeld's style, but Gutfeld has boundary and impulse control issues and too often (in my opinion) inserts his brand of humor into normal discussions of the news (see tonight's The Five when Perino mentioned the word "impotent" to describe how Biden ended his first year in office).
Gutfeld needs to respect the time and place for his humor, but he can't seem to control his baser instincts. If he frequents Watters' show, he will just bring it down. He can't help himself.
Watters is best as a "red meat" host who has like-minded guests to discuss the news. He doesn't need to be a "fair and balanced" left and right panel host. Leave that the Bret Baier and the Sunday show.
