A 22-year-old Kenyan man was found in the wheel well of a cargo plane that had traveled from South Africa to the Netherlands, Dutch police said Monday.
The man, whose identity was not released, was discovered hiding after the plane touched down Sunday at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, police said in a statement.
Flight Aware’s records show the plane maintaining an altitude of over 30,000 feet for the flight.
“This is definitely very unusual that someone was able to survive the cold at such a height – very, very unusual,” Joanna Helmonds, a spokesperson for the Dutch Royal Marechaussee, a national police force, told Reuters.

I hope they fly him home First Class.
How did this guy survive the cold and oxygen deprivation, especially for such a long flight?
Certain drugs could do that..................

AKA “Frosty”
Maybe he bought a B25 crew outfit from an army-navy surplus store and a tank of pilots oxygen... :)
Everest Sherpa?
There are many people who climb Everest (29,032’) without supplemental oxygen. Also, he’s not expending any energy (except trying to keep warm) so while I wouldn’t want to try it, its possible to survive, in that regard
Maybe also prepared extremely heavy clothing? One might assume a lot of preparation, but it is Kenya, and he is an illegal immigrant, after all - so I doubt it.
Probably just a very lucky criminal.
If he brought is Arrest Warrant or Deportation Order with him, he’s home free.
He want be ‘round white people so much.
Not only surviving the cold and lack of oxygen, but also managing not to get crushed when the wheel retracted or fall out when the wheels were put down to land. One very lucky sob.
At least he didn’t have to wear a mask and be abused by flight attendants.
Maybe he didnt want to sit with the mask Karens.
But the climbers get to a base camp to allow themselves to adjust for the altitude, seems like for a pretty long period of time before they can make that final ascent. Just seems crazy to me, I’ve been to the altitude chamber and I know what hypoxia can do to a person. Also, I happen to fly the 747 and it just boggles my mind that he figured out how to ride the gear as it was being retracted without being squished .
Exactly. Just looked up the temp at 30,000ft.
-48 degree Fahrenheit
Did those things fly at the same altitude as a 747?
I don’t even think an AC-130 gunship will fly that high with the crew exposed.
Moron. He could have found out where all the US-based refugee resettlement companies were operating out of and rode in a plush seat, warm, food and drink. And the UN would have given him some spending money, to boot.
LOL!
Nope, didn’t happen. This story is BS.
