pros

quiet
a lot of maintenance disappears
cheaper for now in terms of fuel cost
can be cleaner but depends on what generates the electricity

cons

range anxiety
initially more expensive
refuelling takes longer sometimes a lot longer
extreme temps reduce range and energy even more
can blow up

All the cons won’t stop evs from advancing regardless though.
Switzerland isn’t even the first country to have this happen. Norway was the same IIRC some years ago.

Norway is a perfect case study in how EV markets could work, and how limited they seem to be. The entire country has a population about 30% smaller than the population of New York City, and almost one-third of all Norwegians live in the Oslo metropolitan area.

That simply doesn’t translate to a North American model very well at all.

There’s a whole lot of infrastructure questions, and potential future problems. Maybe, just maybe, they’ll find them and either solve them for us or save us from the same mistakes. I think it’s lunacy but that’s just Meyer opinion.
