If you're hitting the grocery store to prepare for winter weather, please just buy what you need and leave some for others!
You may have noticed empty shelves in some stores due to national supply chain issues, but there is no need to buy more than you normally would.
Having grown up in NYS, and learning to deal with winter, I ALWAYS Prepared for winter. I hate dragging loads of groceries in through the snow and slop.
Shopping carts are well nigh impossible to push through a slushy, snowy parking lot.
So I learned to stock up on stuff that could be stored long term, watch the forecast days out and make sure the perishables are stocked up, then just sit back and enjoy knowing that I don’t have to go out in the teeth of a storm to avoid going hungry.
My grandmother came from the Ukraine.
She watched Fiddler on the Roof and told my dad that that was what life was like where she grew up.
Anyone paying attention did.
Lol!
We have so much food in the garage we can only get one car in. 😆
Hopefully, it’s at least a four car....and, shelf stable food!
We have it all. Its ridiculous. 😆
We finally cleaned out the garage enough to get my car in.
The other side is filled with furniture from my m-i-l that the kids have dibs on when they get their own place.
So in the meantime, we hang onto it.
I got some very sturdy shelves from Sam’s club for my stock.
We’re doing OK.
It won’t be ridiculous whenTSHTF.
Hopefully, it’s climate controlled.
We were able to set up an indoor ‘market’ and a back up supply stock room, thankfully.
Even though much of our stock is shelf stable....still good to have it not taking the heat of our southern summers.
True enough. Seriously we could not leave our house for at least a year.
Our stuff is 25-30 year shelf life.
Yep...that’s what about 1/3 of ours is....that’s in one room. I added to that supply, again, after the Poserdent stole the election.
” You’ll have nothing and be happy!”
OWN! Nothing. —— So says Klaus Schwab who is not Jewish!
