An already dramatic crash in the crypto markets has become yet more drastic, with bitcoin and other digital currencies losing hundreds of billions of dollars from their value.
Bitcoin has now fallen 16.8 per cent over the last week. Other coins have seen even more dramatic losses: ethereum is now down 25 per cent.
That follows what was already the worst start of the year for bitcoin in history. After hitting a record high of almost $68,000 in November, it is now worth under $36,000.

I probably would have sold at $30,000 and bought hard assets.
The great reset:
“you will own nothing and be happy”
People sure seem happy to put lots of their money into something that could be worth nothing overnight
greater fool theory :)
At least you can plant a tulip bulb and get a beautiful flower.
That is just a gosh-darned shame.
Don’t look now…but it’s $34k.
Hey! It’s a great buying opportunity! 🤣😂
Its downward pressure is probably accelerated by people trying to sell it off.
It always cracks me up when people say it’s better than “fiat” money. Well, at least fiat money is backed by a government that doesn’t want it to collapse, and has guns. The only thing crypto is backed by is faith. Blind, naked faith.

If I had bought Bitcoin at, say, $5.00 I would have sold it at $5.50 and then bragged to friends about my 10% profit. So I guess I’d make a lousy investment manager.
Have you seen this video?

It’s about the pending collapse of the ChiCom real estate bubble.
I traded in and out of bitcoin very quickly at certain points last year and made about $40,000. But I got out long age closer to it’s high’s.
I watched it like a halk when I had it, and barely slept at night. I made my money and got the hell out.
Cypto holders lost over a TRILLION dollars since November.
Bueller, what are one of the characteristics of a good currency? It is a stable store of value. Crytos currencies like bitcoin losing 50% of their value in less than 3 months would seem to indicate a FAIL on that metric.
Even as I was writing have you seen this video I was wanting to post this classic SNL skit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDc02GNQaYE
Currency speculation is filled with wild rides up and down, who knew?
The only one getting rich on Bitcoin is first to sell high. Who is he/she?
Heck who doesn’t want a string of ones and zeros randomly arranged somewhere that clever thieves can steal, or in the event of a global catastrophe is inaccessible?
Got in it last summer when it was $27,000 and got out when it was $63,000
Once it gets closer to $30,000 I am getting back in.
