I figured they would cancel the old version, so I bought it on DVD just after the New Year. Not sure how this one will turn out.

In the '70s-set sequel, Ralphie will return home to his old house on Cleveland Street to give his own children the same kind of 'magical Christmas' he experienced as a child.
No Darren McGavin, no Jean Shepherd narrating (or writing the source material). I won't get my hopes up.

No confidence, but I hope it’s better than say, the Gilligan’s Island reunion.

"Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie Parker in A Christmas Story when he was only 12, will be returning to lead a sequel to the perennial holiday favorite."
Will he or his brother be gay, or a tranny?? And will he have saved his pink rabbit jammies that his aunt made for him?

They could probably get Bill Barr to play grown-up Ralphie at a cheaper rate than Billingsley.

39, this year, to be exact. It’s my favorite Christmas Film. I have a full sized “Major Award” up year round in my big window.

Bob Clark would direct it, but he was killed in a traffic accident by an illegal.

"representation of Americana."
its not my favorite Christmas movie but it did represent middle class America...
those monstrous snow suits....the furniture and the kitchen...the Santa parade...

Maybe for the new one they can include a Krampus parade?

Um.....this could be good. Or it could be bad. And I hate to tinker with a classic. They tend to be bad.

I don’t think so, but Billingsley played the elf toy room manager, Ming-Ming, in the movie “Elf.” (The “cotton-headed ninny muggins” scene.)
