DANVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A truck carrying about 100 monkeys was involved in a crash Friday in Pennsylvania, state police said as authorities searched for at least three of the monkeys that appeared to have escaped the vehicle.
The truck carrying the animals crashed with a dump truck in the afternoon in Montour County, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Andrea Pelachick told the Daily Item.
The truck had been on its way to a lab, Pelachick said.
Authorities have asked residents who might see the monkeys to call state police at 570-524-2662.
It was unclear if any people or animals were injured in the crash.

“Where’s Caesar? Anybody find him yet?”
I once had three spider monkeys escape at the zoo. They climbed to the top of a tall tree on the grounds. Two of us spread a blanket on the ground and sat down to a feast of bananas, apples and oranges. When we began eating, the monkeys poked their heads out and came scampering down the trees. They ran towards us, with those long arms awkwardly flailing around.
We let them feast with us, then led them by the hand back to their home.
That’s a cool story :)
Monkeys are smart. They’ll stick together and survive somehow.
I hope they aren’t lab animals infected with some horrible disease. I like animals better than people and hate this kind of experimentation.
And they’re far more intelligent than human illegals who all vote Dem.
So sweet.
You couldn’t catch me that way cuz I hate bananas. But then, I haven’t escaped recently.
I hope none of those lab monkeys are named Caesar.
I know Caesar was an ape but ...
Oh man. Talk about a “Far Side’’ comic come to life.
That was my first thought as well, then I read the article. Hypothermia would likely be a better fate than what they were intended for.
Especially if they were Rhesus monkeys!
I certainly hope not...
It’s 14 in Franklin TN right now
I’m sorry for monkeys outside in PA tonite
Could die for sure ....
Monkeys...even marmosets have a fairly high sentient level
Just heard that 90 monkeys escaped and are in the loose.
Wait, now it’s 900.
I probably shouldn’t admit it in this type of “manly” forum...but I’ve got a 100-song Monkees “Music Box Collection”. 😁
Yeah, tropical animals don't always do well when it's zero to -10 degrees.
To make matters worse, the escaped monkees had typewriters.
