Today’s count is shaping up to be substantially higher than last Friday.
Death counts are not declining. These announcements of reducing restrictions is not because it’s all over. It’s because the spread is so extensive that there is no stopping it. The count yesterday was 3142 dead, but they were mostly old folks so no need to care.

I doubt they are telling the truth if the deaths are of vaxxed people.
Omicron infects many more people (number), a lower percentage of them die (rate), and the death count is the product of those values, which could be increasing or decreasing. As long as the death count doesn't overwhelm the health services, it's just what one expects. Why the fear-porn?

I have bad news for you -- there NEVER was any "stopping it". That concept was and is a blatant LIE. "Slow it"... maybe. So although the latter part of what you said is strictly speaking true, the implication that it is a function of omicron's higher rate of spread is false.

As an "old folk" (I'm 70), I will grant you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you simply forgot the /sarc tag.
I hope for your sake that when Covid has declined into the background like other similar viruses, you will be able to drop your constant barrage of negative, fearful comments. The situation IS improving, and though it will be many months before it is "over" (as much as it will get over), we can all look forward to that.
The proper response to "We're all gonna die!" is "That's correct, but not on your fear-porn schedule".
