It the planners are from Silicone Valley, watch for the name of the city Columbus to change to something like George Floyd
Intel used to have such a facility in Silicon Valley
Dead center, Columbus.
...and Taiwan loses one more reason for other nations to help defend it against the tyranny of Communist China.
Very likely but its going to take probably 7 years to get it up and running.
Good idea in the long term.
Intel’s SV fab got chased out of CA and NM by state regulation.
Their biggest fab so far is in Phoenix, AZ.
The most advanced is in Portland, OR.
They should change the name. Cuck-Town fits especially well since the statue of Christopher Columbus was taken down in the middle of the night at the direction of the Cuck-Mayor.
Pat Gelsinger is the smartest CEO at Intel since Paul Otellini retired back in 2005.
The three fools who they tried to get to replace Paul are the idiots who nearly sank the company.
Pat Gelsinger headed the 486 design team back in the early 90’s and then moved to run VM Ware.
“Very likely but its going to take probably 7 years to get it up and running.”
Intel said they will be making chips there in 2005.
All true
Add in the increased wages due to cost of living that Silicon Valley presented
Great news... For H1B workers.
Throw in the extra complexity of things like what the EV's need their computer chips to do (including the traditional car manufacturers like Ford and GM making EV's) and it takes a loooong time to get all of that spec'd out and agreed to by the parties involved.
I also believe that Columbus, OH is/was the population center of the USA.
Intel has ordered the latest most advance model EUV/DUV lithography machines from Dutch ASML. About a $400M+ price tag. It should be completed in time to start up that new factory.
Largest Chocolate Chip Factory In The World Outside Columbus Ohio.
It must be time to make some Cookies.
Frying pan sized!
Brandon will edict that 50% of the employees must be PRC traitors.
Interesting and good news for Ohio. Around my area in Bay City Michigan another chip maker is building a plant for production of silicon carbide wafers.

I’ve actually done them in a Cast Iron Skillet on a Coleman Camp Stove. Not as good as oven baked but better than NO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES out in the woods !!!
I guess We could’ve just eaten the raw cookie dough.
