I remember when Bat Out Of Hell came out. It got a lot of radio play. RIP Meatloaf.

There is an amazon prime documentary about the creation of that album. It’s so good I bought the vinyl a few months ago. The guy was WAY underrated.

It’ll be said when Paul McCartney dies, assuming he didn’t die a long time ago. 🤣

Perhaps someone can post just how this gentleman who called himself Meatloaf, through his music and lyrics gave them critical insight to life’s existential questions and conflicts.

Vapid celebrity worship is a sign of a decadent and deteriorating culture.

He’ll be buried in a bed of mashed potatoes and gravy.

When I was a rebellious, idiot teenager, I was such a metal head, I would turn the station when I heard his music. After developing more of an appreciation for all forms of music (that’s actual instrument and unaltered vocals, not the sample-computer generated-autotuned crap that passes for music today), I was left in awe by his range and arrangements. Fly away bat, out of hell and into His arms.

Vapid trashing of a person is also a sign of our current decadent and deteriorating culture.

“Valid celebrity worship...”

Been going on forever, but I agree with you, celebrity worship is nonsensical.

Well we got to be realistic about it. I don’t know about meatloaf but Eddie Van Halen and Eddie Money put their bodies through a lot. Van Halen was also pretty much in denial where his bad health came from. An alcoholic who smokes and then blames his oral cancer on his guitar pick? Really?

1990 while camping in Michigan, a friend of mine and I went into town for supplies. On the way back we decided to stop a small bar for a beer. When we ordered the beers the bar tender asked if we wanted it in a cup or a glass. I asked what’s the difference (thinking price)? He said if poured it in a cup we could go outside and watch the concert(he did not tell us who). So with our cups in hand we went outside and watched the last 1/3 of Meatloaf’s show under a small pavilion with about 200 people all for the price of a beer. Will never forget that. He was an entertainer of the people. Peace be with him.
