A moose once bit my sister.
She couldn’t run in the snow.

They are all over the roads around here. Be very aware of them. Especially the mommas.

Cranky moose — LOL. Luckily we don’t have five feet of snow in North Idaho.

Thanks for posting!

During the Iron Dog Snow Machine race, either last year or the year before, there was one section of trail where the moose were hanging out. They’d much rather follow/hang out on a snow machine trail rather than trying to make their way through deep snow. They do not like efforts to try to chase them off the trail. One fellow who was trail breaking for racers had a moose encounter where the moose ran by and kicked his snow machine in passing - did some damage, too.

The Iditarod overlaps with the Iron Dog in places so the dog teams could also encounter grumpy moose.

Cranky moose. The meth problem has really gotten out of hand. But at least you don’t have to worry so much if it bites you.

Silly author.

You are not going to outrun a moose.

With a moose, you might, at least attempt to climb a tree.

Not so much with a grizz.

Your best bet is a 12 guage semiauto shotgun loaded with buck and slugs or a semiauto rifle with .308 cal or better.

Back that up with a pistol or revolver of sufficient power.
