My widowed uncle was very active but voluntarily gave up his drivers license at age 89. He entered an assisted living center around the same time and he was still healthy overall. (He had the means and everyone was worried about him living alone)
This would have been ideal for him. I was his caretaker -he and his wife had no children. His final monthly bill at the assisted living center was just shy of $5000 month.
He was healthy and got around fine until his stroke at age 94
