No thank you. A big fat juicy terrorist target.
Tell me about food, laundry, healthcare ...
Otherwise I am intrigued.
“... residents will be charged a ‘living fee’ to cover expenses such as maintenance and food, which reportedly starts from $2,482 (£1,827) per person per month.”
Um, no.
Terrorists have had decades to target cruise ships and have chosen not to. Could be because a lot of the crew are Muslim.
Mortgage + Rent? Sounds like something for only the rich but then they would just purchase a yacht.
Is it like a condo where you have to pay a monthly maintenance fee?
What happens to your investment after the ship is scrapped?
“residents will be charged a ‘living fee’ to cover expenses such as maintenance and food, which reportedly starts from $2,482 (£1,827) per person per month.”
Actually not that out of align.
Add up what you spend each month on food, utilities, property tax or rent, insurance, household maintenace and repair.
I can only imagine what maintenence costs on a cruise ship would be towards the end of its useful life.
Very expensive and requires lots of coordination. Crew gets tired of longtimers and medical care is sketchy.

For just that amount I can go on a one to two week cruise every month.
That would me way more than enough cruising for me.
Is ther not a cruiser named “World” that is already doing this?
That’s an easy no when we don’t bring in that much. So, very much out of line.
Read again ;-)
“... reportedly STARTS from $2,482”
Food $500 (we eat in)
Utilities $250
Property tax $500
Insurance $85
Etc $200
Maintenance $400 (lots of projects)
So yeah, kinda close. But THAT is for the family. That fee is PER PERSON.
There were Muslims in the twin towers too.
If you have crap load of money to burn, sure.
Otherwise, idiocy.
Adding this to my bucket list of things not to do.
$2,482 per month.
That’s about the same as the new 2 bedroom high-rise apartments they are building all over So. Cal. now.
On one of our cruises the waiter was from Chile.
His wife also worked on the same ship. They were on their 3rd year and planned to do it for 2-3 more years and said they will have enough money saved to go back to Chile and pay for a very nice house in full.
They have no car payments, property insurance etc to pay.
It’s actually a good arrangement.
