Governor Blackface-Klansman Ralph Northam pardoned a Democrat who was jailed for underage sex crimes in his final act as Virginia governor.
Northam pardoned Democrat state senator Joe Morrissey, who was charged for having a sexual relationship with his 17-year-old law firm receptionist.
In 2014, Morrissey, who was 57 years old at the time, was sentenced to 12 months in jail for engaging in sex acts with a 17-year-old.
Morrissey married his receptionist after she turned 18 and they now have four children.

The brother of a friend got seven years in prison for sexual relations with a 17 year old girl in Nebraska. She was just shy of her 18th birthday, too.
The double standards in this country are sickening.
I always marveled at how nothing was said about Macron and his “bride”.
She should have been a mug shot....that’s what I always see when a 35 year-old female teacher goes after a young teen.
I was eighteen and met my wife at sixteen during a HS football game. We married at nineteen and seventeen and my father in law had to sign the papers. Going on 45 years married.
What our elites believe are crimes is absolutely insane. No wonder we have people cutting their gear off.

I was responding to the way they treat teenagers in that gray area. Not dirty old men.
I’m not mistaken Virginia law is a couple years of separation in age is not a big deal but if there’s like 20 years difference yeah that’s a problem for Virginia lawmakers.
When I graduated from high school in 73 it might hav been like that, but I only dated 30+ divorcee RNs...

I agree, and every state is different as well. Here in Indiana the consent age is 16, guess they figure if you can drive a car you should know about the birds and the bees.
Do I think he’s an a-hole? Absolutely, but not one that should go to jail if it was consensual, there’s enough criminals that need to be behind bars for that space than an old pervert who has 4 kids to take care of that were willingly created.

I assumed the age being talked about was in that teenaged area. I don’t know what it is in the body clock that makes somebody seek someone young. Nor do I endorse it. My wife and I were within two years of each other. My son was within six months of his own bride. My daughters each married young men seven years older. Go figure.
And most anything Ralph Northam does, I oppose.
I think the “couple years of separation in age is not a big deal” laws are fairly new. They make a huge amount of sense, so I’m surprised they were passed.

Still don’t know if I give Morrissey a pass having an affair with someone only 17 when he was 57. 40 years difference she could have been his grand daughter true love or not. Betting her grandfather was not pleased.
