ATLANTA — Jeffrey Parker, who led the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority during a time of expansion and then during the pandemic when public transportation ridership plummeted, has died, the agency announced.
A spokesperson for the agency, Stephany Fisher, said that Parker killed himself when he was struck by a train in the East Lake Station in DeKalb County at about 10:30 p.m. Friday.

My late brother in law was a train driver. He said the worst feeling in the world was watching people standing next to the tracks or in their cars and knowing they were going to step/pull in front of you and there was nothing you could do and it was a dead giveaway because he could see them far off, just waiting.
He said he killed a couple people but had a friend that had killed 12 people until he finally killed himself.
Oh man. Too soon I think.

I always joke that The Metro in DC / VA / MD is a jobs program and any transportation it provides is incidental.
Too many people with moods induced by the excessive hyperbole from the media (that folks allowed the media to do to them), on every subject, from “race”, to “Trump”, to the Covid pandemic. The media has helped induce tons of individuals into a sense of helplessness. Not having faith in G-d goes a long way toward allowing that to happen.
They did not kill those people. Those people used the train to kill themselves.
I understand why they think that though. But its not right.

Maybe. My intent wasn't to make light of his death, but to point out that her suicide was symbolic and it seems he intended for his to be as well.
