Big thumb up!! Problem is so many of the good movies are no longer in any streaming library. I have to either get them from the library, buy them used on eBay, or sometimes buy them new on Amazon. I just bought the Blu Ray of the Russian anti-war film Come and See. The DVD from our local library was a really crappy copy with dark gray blurry subtitles that could not be read.

Only after watching ‘Noir Alley’ on TCM did I appreciate Sterling Hayden.
When out of sheer luck I tuned in & caught “Zero Hour!” that was when it all opened up....and the “Airplane!” connection.
Up to that point I was only familiar with Sterling Hayden in Dr Strangelove & The Godfather.

I enjoy an occasional film noir.

Wow...thanks for sharing that youtube video of the interview with Sterling Hayden.
Never saw it and I wouldn’t have recognized him there.
I had checked his biography & he led quite an impressive & adventuresome life.
They don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

I always liked L.A. Confidential, but not sure this is the kind of Film Noir example you are looking for.
Of the older ones...The Third Man was one I enjoyed. The Maltese Falcon and Sunset Boulevard too. I made a point of watching “Gaslighting”.

Detour has the most evil screen villainess ever.
Ditto — another vote for Detour here. BTW the personal life of the male lead Tom Neal could be its own noir.

I’ll suggest “The Third Man”.
Orson Wells, Tom Cotton in B&W. Several great and timeless quotes. Haunting zither music.
My favorite film noir.
