My guns are so smart, that they only shoot when I pull the trigger and the bullet goes where I aim the gun.
Is that smart enough for the pols?

Nowadays almost NOTHING is “inanimate.” They are putting AI into all sorts of things, from toys to lawnmowers and of course, cars.
Even without watching the video, I can envision in the near future guns that are “situation aware” starting with only working for the person whose fingerprints or other bio signature is imprinted into it. The next phase would be discerning whether the target is a person or not.
Maybe 20 years away but that is not all that long.

I think your definition of “allowed” in this context is very different from mine.

Sorry, the founders never envisioned the idea of smart guns, just that citizens could own weapons as good as or better than the military...

A smart gun attempts to reason with your assailant, explaining that it is society’s economic injustice that makes him violent, and that a better solution is to pressure his representatives in Congress to take more affirmative action.

Sure hope the battery, electronics and sensors never fail. Most especially when really needed.

So-called "smart guns" implies adding technology to the firearm to restrict it's ability to fire unless certain conditions are met.
This cannot be done for free. There will be a cost in size, weight, usability, increased risk of failure, purchase price, maintenance...
These last considerations mean the initial and ongoing cost of firearm ownership will increase. Because of this, low-income, in particular low-income minorities' ability to purchase and own firearms for self defense will be significantly impacted. Ergo by the left's own typical reasoning, any such proposal for "smart gun" technology is racist.

Yes. It will only fire on whites and Asians. This allows “people of color”, aka dindunuffins, wasnttheres, notmes and dontknows to be able to safely pursue their professions in the murder, drug and looting industries.
