South Korea approves Novavax coronavirus vaccine, making it the fifth coronavirus vaccine available in the country.

SEOUL — South Korea’s drug regulator on Wednesday granted final authorization to Novavax’s coronavirus vaccine for use in adults, health officials said in a news release, making it the fifth coronavirus vaccine available in the country.

Although the authorization is conditioned on the Maryland-based company’s submission of the final results of clinical studies regarding its vaccine, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said Novavax’s coronavirus vaccine has received “final” approval in South Korea. The vaccine, which will be produced locally, is effective and safe, the regulator said.

The AstraZeneca-Oxford, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccines have been in use in South Korea, where 84 percent of the country’s 52 million people are fully vaccinated. The vaccine by U.S. firm Pfizer and German partner BioNTech has been the one most commonly used, according to government data.

In June, Novavax announced that its coronavirus vaccine was over 90 percent effective at protecting people from illness. Last month, the biotech company said it “showed strong immune responses against Omicron and other circulating variants.”

South Korea’s authorization of the Novavax vaccine comes after the European Medicines Agency last month recommended it for use in the European Union, the World Health Organization validated it for emergency use and India’s drug regulator granted it emergency use authorization. Novavax said last month it expects to submit its application for emergency use in the United States around late January.

Same spike protein but it’s directly injected (pure spike proteins) instead of using mRNA and DNA or vectors to tell your body to make the spike proteins.

Novavax is still toxic and unnecessary, like the other ‘Covid’ vaccines.

The government helped cause the manufacturing delays that prevented Novavax being released in the US last year. Novavax contracted manufacturing to Emergent under Operation Warp Speed, but the government interfered and canceled the contract in favor of J&J and AstraZeneca (before it canceled AZ too) and directed them to Fujifilm, who had trouble sourcing the proper equipment and evidently still haven’t been able to make it satisfactorily. Now the only manufacturers are overseas - India, Korea, and (soon) Japan.

It’s too bad as it could have had better acceptance and earlier uptake among people who just didn’t really want the genetic vaccines but were not otherwise opposed to vaccination.

I want to it’s like living in a non-corrupt nation such as South Korea.
Pfizer owns the US senate and congress so we will never see novavax cleared and available in pharmacies.

If nova VAX ever applies and gets cleared Pfizer will then pressure Walgreens Rite Aid and CVS to not carry it.

According to who besides you?

Are you still claiming that the Covid virus doesn’t even exist?

Or did you finally give up on that idea? And if so, when did you quit claiming that?

I’m with the guy you just berated. The vaxx is unnecessary. That’s two against one, tough guy.

The survival rate of this thing is 99.9% if you believe the CDC when they say the deaths are over reported by 75%.

Novavax finally got their application submitted for Emergency Use Authorization in the USA, just at the very end of 2021 (like the last day of the year). It seems to be on track for approval, maybe next month.

It is not just the USA however, Novavax kept slipping the date they planned to submit for regulatory approval, all around the world. It got the nickname “Nevervax” because of those schedule slips.

The dam is breaking big time for Novavax approvals though. They just got approved in Korea in recent days, and have been approved in India, Indonesia and the Philippines, as well as by the WHO (which gets them into over a hundred countries). The EU has signed contracts for delivery, and Indonesia has begun receiving (10 million doses) and administering them.

They expect to ramp up production to around 200 million doses per month in the first quarter.

Novavax hasn’t yet submitted a complete EUA application. They finalized the data by submitting the outstanding manufacturing component but the FDA requires 30 days to review the data before it will accept the EUA application, so this won’t be done until the end of the month. Then it will take weeks to review before approving, if it bothers.

As usual you don’t know what you’re talking about. The vaccines continue to work against the Covid virus with the Alpha spikes which is all that the designers had to work with. And thanks, Donald Trump, for creating Warp Speed and getting them to us. The vaccines do not work against the Omicron and Delta spike variants because they are too different and our antibodies don’t recognize them. This is only too tough for the usual crowd to understand. Everyone else can follow the logic.

So don’t take it. Polio was barely more than a cold in 98% cases. Only 2% resulted in paralysis or death. Yet everyone wanted to be vaxxed maybe you’re too young to remember that.

The difference this time is government forcing people to take it which is a gross abuse of individual rights.

When Covid erupted in January 2020 the only other known SARS virus was the 2002-03 outbreak. That one had a death rate of 9%. A cousin virus MERS in 2015 had a death rate of 32%.That is why the medical world was seriously scared by SARS-2. This could have been a Black Plague level event. Mother Abigail who used to post here years ago believed we would have something like this. A retired CDC scientist who worked on Ebola. Look up her old posts.

You’re comparing this poison to the polio vaccine?

Dummy.

“ it will take weeks to review before approving, if it bothers.”

The emergency could reasonably be considered to be over next month. Also, another vaccine and treatments have been approved and are available. They certainly could find reasonable grounds to skip it.

Since it was one of the Operation Warp Speed candidates however, there may be a special commitment to consider it. I believe the Government committed to buying 100 million doses, like it did for the others (not that this Administration would be shy about building another bonfire of taxpayer money, if it suited their ideology, or corrupt purposes).

People will still be dying in the USA, so they may fear political blowback from denying approval. Also, the global market is still short of supply, and other areas (like Asia) have yet to have their Omicron waves.
